2020 stole a lot from us. Holidays, festivals, weekends away, days out with the kids… you name it, COVID-19 ruined it.

As much as we’d love to transform our home, it can be extremely costly. So, before you go tearing down wallpaper and window shopping for a brand new sofa, check out these simple ways to spruce up your home.
Bring The Outdoors In
Indoor plants should be in every room of your home! Large standing plants, small potted plants, hanging plants… whatever you go for, plants will certainly add life to a dreary room.
Adding a little bit of nature to your home with plants can help clean the air, reduce stress and boost productivity. Plus, when it comes to home décor, plants are in.
Update Your Window Dressing
The window is a key feature in any room. And a new window dressing makes all the difference when sprucing up your home.
Perhaps swap out your old, tired blinds for modern, sleek and versatile shutters, which come in a range of styles. Or add a bold pair of curtains to your existing window dressing to brighten up the space.
Add Light
Got your eye on a new lamp? Buy it! Light can completely alter the appearance of a room. By using lamps, you can add ambience to your lounge, bedroom, hallway or dining room. Standing lamps are an excellent way to fill empty corners and add a touch of elegance to any room.
Statement lampshades can also be a great touch when sprucing up a room.
Buy A New Rug
Rugs add warmth and definition to a room. They’re an excellent way to change up the appearance of a room thanks to the variety of sizes, patterns and colours available. The placement of the rug can also make a huge difference!
Perhaps add a colourful runner rug to your hallway to create a bright and welcoming atmosphere. Or, if you have hardwood floors, place a giant rug under your bed to completely transform the look and feel of your bedroom.

Breathe New Life Into Old Furniture
Instead of splashing out on new furniture, perhaps all you need is a tin of paint, or some vinyl and a bit of creativity. Upcycling your old furniture is a cheap, effective and fun way to spruce up the home.
Perhaps the little side table you were going to get rid of will make an excellent plant stand once it has had a lick of paint. Or those shelves you no longer need in the bedroom will add stylish storage to your home office.

Sometimes you don’t have to buy anything at all. Simply having a rearrange of your larger furniture can completely transform a room! Perhaps move your bed so it is positioned against a different wall. Or attach your TV to the wall rather than having it on a TV stand.

Clear Out And Deep Clean
Spring isn’t the only time to have a good old clear out. If you want your home to feel brand new, have a big clear out!
Go from room to room getting rid of anything you no longer want or need. Don’t stop until every cupboard, drawer, nook and cranny has been emptied of the useless stuff that’s cluttering your home.
If you have children, a big clear out before Christmas is an excellent way to get rid of old toys and make room for new stuff. Plus, it allows you to donate your unused goods to charity.
Once your home is junk-free, deep clean each room. After a clear-out and bottomless clean, your home will feel completely different!
Play Around With Soft Furnishings
Fur throws, patterned blankets, scatter cushions, bedding, dining room table linen, bathroom towels… the list is endless. Soft furnishings are one of the easiest elements to change. They don’t cost a lot and can be easily replaced!
Perhaps add a new throw to your settee, or install a shelf to display your beautiful new towels in the bathroom. With soft furnishings, you can spruce up any room.
