St. Lukes Park – Runwell

We love to see returning clients (it makes us feel good) but it also reaffirms what we do is to a high standard.

At Shuttertec, we are lucky to have completed many shutters in Wickford properties, including those at the luxury estate of St. Lukes Park (Essex) – which is where this stunning installation takes us.

We previously installed white shutters for this client in his previous property, again on St. Lukes.

This property is finishes to a high standard, with fantastic finishing touches. We installed stunning MDF plantation shutters across the property, with inclusive blackout blinds beind the shutters.

Let’s take a closer look!

Wickford Shutters.

Our client opted for MDF again this new build home. MDF shutters are an extremely durable product and can withstand the rigeours of the modern day enviroment.

For the master bedroom, blackout shutters were installed. They are nifty, a discreet blind sits behind the panels which the end-user may pull down at any point to give a near pitch black room – day or night!

The shutters have an additional split in the slats allowing for a “half and half” split, giving additional functionality over privacy. Keeping the lower part of the shutter closed with the top part open is highly appealing to most.

A delightful outcome and we loved doing this one. If you’re looking for Wickford shutters then please do get in touch. As a local company, we’d love to help you.

Pros and Cons of MDF Shutters

Pros:

  • Cost-Effective: Cheaper than hardwood shutters while providing a similar appearance.
  • Aesthetic Appeal: Offers a classic and sophisticated look for a variety of interiors.
  • Consistency: No knots or grain patterns, providing a uniform finish.
  • Impact resistant: The tough polypropylene coating makes them almost impervious to damage, ideal for busy homes.

Cons:

  • Weight: Heavier than natural wood, which might limit their use in larger windows.
  • Moisture Sensitivity: While resistant to warping, prolonged exposure to excessive moisture may damage the material. Not ideal for wetrooms or bathroom envrionments.
  • Repair: Difficult to repair if damaged, as MDF does not respond well to refinishing.

Guarantee: 5 years

If you’re looking for Wickford shutters, then MDF will no doubt be suited to your home. We do of course also offer hardwood shutters, PVC shutters and vinyl shutters, but with MDF being the worlds most used shutter material, it’s easy to understand why it’s our favourite.
