Traditional Solid Panel Shutters

We graced these windows with a very traditional shutter, transforming the look and feel of the room.

It’s not often we’re asked to completely transform a room with solid shutters. This only really happens a handful of times a year, but we have to admit, they do look very good.

A traditional feel, period home in Essex deserves a shutter to match. They offer a very different look and feel to a standard louvred shutter – these are perhaps where it all started.

We fitted these solid panel window shutters in Southend to the clients’ preferred specification, which is a solid raised panel with brass hinges. The knobs are required on solid panel shutters as there is no way to open otherwise (we expect the client to change these to brass as well) and then the panels will trifold to the side when they need natural light.

These bedroom shutters are absolutely perfect for keeping light out and offer near blackout all year round which is an added bonus, but perhaps, if they were being fitted into a living room then Tier-on-Tier shutters may be the best solution as the top panels can stay open the majority of the time to allow daylight.

When opting for solid panel interior shutters, there are a few things to consider. Mainly because solid shutters need to be open the majority of the time.

Either way, these look positively spectacular in any period property and will certainly be a talking point!
